For students and young innovators, learning doesn’t only happen in classrooms. It happens through conversations, exposure to real journeys, and opportunities to see ideas move from concept to reality. That spirit of experiential learning was at the heart of the *HiEd Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit*, hosted by *Wesal* (the Qatar Foundation Entrepreneurship Club) at QF’s Student Center. PitchPro was honored to be invited to participate as one of the startup booths at the summit, joining a vibrant ecosystem of innovators, students, and founders shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Qatar.

**What Is the HiEd Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit?**

The HiEd Entrepreneurship & Innovation Summit is a student-focused event designed to spark innovation and empower aspiring entrepreneurs. The summit brought together university students, early-stage founders, and ecosystem leaders under one roof, creating space for learning, networking, and inspiration.

**The event featured:**

Pitch challenges for technology-based ideas: giving students a platform to test and refine their concepts

Startup booths: where founders shared their journeys and lessons learned

Networking opportunities: connecting students with peers, mentors, and entrepreneurship resources available across Qatar

At its core, the summit aimed to make entrepreneurship more accessible. It showed students that building something meaningful is not only possible, but supported.

As one of the featured startup booths, PitchPro had the opportunity to engage directly with students and visitors. Our booth became a space for conversation—about startup journeys, early challenges, and how technology can support founders in turning ideas into compelling pitches.

We shared the story behind PitchPro, demonstrated how the platform helps entrepreneurs structure and communicate their ideas more effectively, and listened to students’ own ambitions. As for *MWC Doha*, it is the Middle East’s premier connectivity and technology event. Part of the globally recognised *Mobile World Congress (MWC)* series organised by the GSMA, this event was launched in partnership with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. MWC Doha brings together global leaders, innovators, policymakers, and industry experts to explore the next era of digital transformation. Being an exhibitor at this event served as a valuable learning experience for PitchPro, as we connected with technology experts in the region and gained notable feedback and support for our work. 

**Learning from the experts**

Throughout both exhibition opportunities, we were overwhelmed by the genuine interest we received about our company, along with the feedback and insights shared, reinforcing the relevance of what we are building and helping sharpen our understanding of market needs and opportunities. We were reminded of the power of using AI for good, and the value of collaboration and connectivity in this overarching mission as well as our own company goals.

Every startup has an origin story, and PitchPro’s story began at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. That is why PitchPro’s collaboration event with the Association of Information Systems (AIS club) at CMU-Q was such a heartwarming full-circle moment for the community. 

**What the AIS club is all about**

At the event, students had the opportunity to use PitchPro’s platform in order to build on their presentation skills and practice in a safe open environment. The AIS club on the university’s campus consists of student leaders who have a passion for Information Technology, and the art of branching information systems with communal needs and understanding. The club organizes speaker events, start-up collaborations, and workshops for students to enhance their knowledge in the field, and connect with like minded peers who share in their passions. 

**The Big Event**

Throughout PitchPro’s event, the students were able to see firsthand what a startup in their field looks like, but they also found value in their presentation skills improving. The Information Systems area at CMU-Q emphasizes the importance of not only understanding and analyzing information, but also being able to communicate the data in an easy-to-understand, cohesive way. This is what PitchPro’s application aims to support. After having some time to try out the web application and learn more about the company, students were encouraged to practice presenting in front of their peers through engaging timed challenges. The event was both engaging and informative. It was a learning experience for students and an opportunity for PitchPro to give back to the home of its origin story. 

**How Students Perceived PitchPro**

As the event came to an end, PitchPro representatives offered students who attended the event an opportunity to provide feedback on how they perceived the web application. The responses were incredibly promising\! One student expressed that the application, “was helpful in identifying the strengths and improvements necessary for speaking, and it also helped in showing the user their eye movement and facial expressions,” (Computer Science, First year student). All the students that gave feedback expressed that they would like to use PitchPro to aid them in interview preparation, and would like to continue attending more PitchPro collaboration events in the future.

For PitchPro, this event was about more than showcasing a product — it was about staying connected to the community that helped shape our journey. Returning to CMU-Q as a startup, and collaborating with a student-led organization like AIS, reinforced our belief in the value of supporting students as they build the skills and confidence needed for their future careers.

Reconnecting With Our Roots: AIS X PitchPro On Campus Event

Speaking in public can sometimes feel overwhelming; however, this skill can be useful in various aspects of life such as personal interactions and career development. Traditionally, individuals sought feedback from mentors or listeners to develop their speaking abilities over time; however, this feedback is often subjective, making it difficult to identify accurate areas for improvement. Thankfully, with the advancement of AI technology, speakers now have access to practical feedback to help them refine their public speaking skills much more effectively.  

### How AI Analyzes Speech

AI software created for public speaking can now assess various aspects of a speech, making it effective in helping speakers improve their presentation skills.  

**Speech pace**: AI technology can recognize the pace of your speech, and it can also suggest the best pace for keeping your audience interested and engaged.  

**Tone of voice**: These tools can evaluate the tone of your voice and determine if it aligns with the message being conveyed.  

**Filler words**: Using many filler words, such as "um," "like," and "you know," can make your speech less effective. AI can help you identify the filler words you use and build a strategy to eliminate them.  

**Clarity**: Ensuring that you pronounce words clearly is crucial when addressing the public. AI can assess your pronunciation skills and assist in refining your speech clarity.

During this Fall semester, PitchPro had the rewarding opportunity to collaborate with Hamad Bin Khalifa University in their 2025 HBKU Ideathon\! Along with QSTP, HBKU Innovation Center, QF Alumni, HBKU Alumni, and SHIFT, these entities joined forces to collaborate on a high-impact event encouraging students to get creative. 

**What the HBKU Ideathon Is All About**

This two day event held on November 7 \- 8 gave students across all HBKU colleges the opportunity to form teams, receive mentorship, and use innovative thinking to curate practical solutions. Industry experts were welcomed to the community to provide their knowledge and mentorship to the participants; experts also held workshops prior to the event to ensure that students were adopting an innovative mindset, and had the right toolkit for business models, prototyping, and pitching their ideas. PitchPro was especially pleased with their emphasis on mentoring students about the value of effective presentations and pitching tips prior to the event\!

**PitchPro’s Contributions to the Event**

PitchPro participated in the HBKU Ideathon as an official collaborator, supporting the event’s mission to encourage creativity and entrepreneurial thinking among students. Our presence reflected a shared commitment to helping young innovators better communicate their ideas and understand the importance of pitching in the early stages of venture creation.

By being part of the Ideathon ecosystem, PitchPro contributed to the broader conversation around idea clarity, presentation, and startup readiness, reinforcing the role that effective pitching plays in transforming creative concepts into impactful solutions. Collaborating with HBKU on this initiative allowed PitchPro to align its purpose with a student-driven platform that celebrates forward-thinking ideas. 

**Exciting Opportunities for PitchPro**

This platform also offered PitchPro the opportunity to associate and network with industry experts that could be included as presentation mentors on the PitchPro web application in the future\! This is one of the key features that makes PitchPro stand out from other AI tools; intertwining AI assistance with human connection and mentorship for optimal goal achievements. 

Joining forces with mentors like the brilliant ones we met at HBKU’s Ideathon can create a powerful balance of artificial intelligence and human connection that only further supports PitchPro’s effectiveness and progression. This event was truly an exceptional testament of the impact that collaborating with the community can create\!
